About HELP-PORTRAIT:
In 2008, before social media, photographer Jeremy Cowart used a blogging network to spread a very simple idea: Find people in need. Take their photos. Print their photos. And give them away. He called it Help-Portrait, which became a global movement spanning 80+ countries and millions of portraits. Help-Portrait continues to this day around the world.

About KWPhotogs and Help-Portrait:
In the same spirit as photographer Jeremy Cowart before us, KWPhotogs holds events
where we use photography for the betterment
of the community around us.
During these events, when we meet you, we like to point out how rather than taking a portrait, we are giving you a portrait of you, free.
We often meet in local parks and approach strangers in the following fashion:
1. we introduce ourselves.
2. we collect contact information from them.
3. we photograph them, whether alone, or with a loved one that walks with them, while sometimes, they return a little while later, with their entire family for a portrait together.
4. we print the portrait.
5. finally we deliver them the portrait, according to their preference, whether b mail or by dropping it off (if they live in town).
Photography has the potential to bring so much joy; and this is us in our endeavour to bring some of that to the community.
